CALL FOR APPLICATIONS - SIX IN THE ATTIC 2019/20

28 MAR 2019

The Attic at 17 Eustace Street

Irish Theatre Institute invites applications for Six in the Attic 2019/20.

Six in the Attic is Irish Theatre Institute (ITI)’s key artist development programme providing artists with the space and resources to create and develop work. Now in its 9th year, Six in the Attic focuses on supporting writers and theatre makers through mentoring, training and establishing a community of artists who share the attic space in Irish Theatre Institute in Dublin city centre

ITI recognises that having the time and space to think allows your work to reach its full potential. Artists have access to designated desk space and, when it’s time to take the work on its feet, rehearsal and meeting rooms are also provided.

ITI is now seeking applications from playwrights and theatre makers with ambitious plans for 2019-2020, who will benefit from the space, time and practical resources to develop existing work, explore new projects and further develop their practice over a 12-month period. ITI welcome submissions from mid-career artists and makers who want to grow their careers, build their community and seek to match the scale of their projects with the scale of their ambition.

In order to achieve this, each artist will receive bespoke mentoring from ITI Co-Directors (Siobhán Bourke and Jane Daly), access to information services and expertise from ITI staff, an artists’ practice bursary (€500), and access to a series of talks and Continuous Professional Development (CPD) workshops with industry experts for which there will be a CPD honorarium.

Through Six in the Attic, ITI aims to support and resource a community of professional theatre makers and artists to engage, explore, develop, debate and collaborate on their projects. If you are keen to realise your artistic ambition and grow your community of peers and cheerleaders, then apply now.
