Irish Theatre Institute is delighted to share details of The Intimacy Sessions for Theatre with Ita O’Brien, Intimacy Coordinator and the opportunity for Theatre Directors and Producers to participate in the online sessions. As part of our Phase II of Speak Up & Call it Out: ACTiON ITI is offering a limited number of subsidised places to professional Theatre Directors and Producers/Self-Producing Artists.

 

•   Monday 10th August, 10.30am -12pm: An introduction to Intimacy for Directors working in Theatre with Ita O'Brien.

•   Monday 17th August, 10.30am – 12pm: An introduction to Intimacy for Producers working in Theatre with Ita O’Brien.

Open to Theatre Directors and Producers/Self-Producing Artists who have been engaged in a minimum of three professional productions generally acknowledged as being of high artistic quality.

About Ita O’Brien

Ita O'Brien is the UK’s leading Intimacy Coordinator and founder of Intimacy on Set, her company set up in 2018, which provides services to TV, film, & theatre when dealing with intimacy, sexual content, and nudity. Most recently Ita has worked on Normal People (BBC3/Hulu), Sex Education 1&2 (Netflix) and I May Destroy You (BBC/HBO). Ita featured as a key speaker at ITI’s Speak Up & Call It Out event (March 2018) and facilitated an Intimacy On Stage workshop in Dublin, hosted by ITI (January 2019).

 

About Speak Up & Call It Out: ACTiON

Speak Up & Call It Out is a theatre sector initiative led by ITI and supported by the Department of Media, Tourism, Arts, Culture, Sport and the Gaeltacht. In 2020/21 as part of Speak Up & Call I Out: ACTiON ITI will continue Phase II of this initiative and work with the sector to roll out information, training and resources to address abuse of power issues and wellbeing.
